Also, have you tried running an SFC scan? (open the command prompt and type sfc /scannow). The ones that are not running, I would replace the .SYS files from the XP cd. It may not have the same cause as your problem but the answer could very well be the same.

If nothing else works, try setting Computer Browser to Manual and see if Workstation will work when set to Automatic. It provides good reasoning to make the jump to Windows 10.
